Apple Cider Vegan Donuts

INGREDIENTS

65g all-purpose flour

50g granulated sugar

2 tsp. baking powder

1/4 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. each of the following, ground

cinnamon

nutmeg

cardamom

allspice

60ml apple cider

60ml apple sauce

2 tbsp. vegetable oil

1 tsp. vanilla extract

CINNAMON SUGAR TOPPING

50g granulated sugar

2 tbsp. cinnamon

PREPARATION

1. Clean and heat mini donut maker.

2. Whisk cinnamon sugar topping in a wide bowl and set aside.

3. Combine dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking powder, salt) in a medium bow.

4. Add spices to dry ingredients.

5. In a large bowl, whisk apple cider, applesauce, vegetable oil and vanilla extract.

 

6. Add dry ingredients to wet and whisk until combined and lumps are gone. Sift dry ingredients for fewer lumps.

 

7. Pour batter into a piping bag or gallon-sized plastic bag and cut the tip to approximately 1/2 cm in diameter.

 

8. Use nonstick cooking spray to lightly grease donut maker before piping batter into molds, being careful not to overfill. Close and latch the donut maker and bake for approximately 4 minutes. Use the first batch as an indicator for baking time.

 

9. Remove donuts and immediately transfer, one or two at a time, to the cinnamon sugar topping. Turn to coat.
